At the end of the week there is full-on activity in the harbour at Scheveningen.

Although this traditional fishing village has blossomed into a popular seaside resort, true to tradition on Friday the harbour is the domain of hardy sea folk and big sea trawlers. Fresh landings of fish are brought in and compared, families stand on the edge to welcome their fathers back and tough tales are told about what happened that week at sea. A stroll around the harbour is like being at the theatre, trawlers and hyper-modern recreational boats and sailboats stand side by side, all together.

Admire the ‘theatre performance by night’ and reserve a good place with a view over the harbour in one of the many cosy restaurants. Despite modernisation, reflected on the menu you will ‘see’ the smell of fresh fish in the harbour at one of the nice restaurants in the Harbour. Fresh fish predominates.
