OV-fiets

The OV-fiets scheme is not just a bicycle rental service but is designed to be used as part of the public transport system, providing a seamless switch between rail and bicycle journeys. When you arrive at the train station, you can borrow a bicycle, cycle to your destination and return the bike at the train station on your way back home.

To borrow an OV-fiets, you need to take out a one-year subscription for € 10.00 and then pay a minimal sum of € 3.15 each time you rent a bicycle for a day (24 hours). After 72 hours you pay an additional fee of € 5.00. You can borrow up to two bicycles at a time on one subscription card.

Electric bicycles and NS-scooters can also be rented and they each cost € 7.50 per day.

The bicycles are available at more than 200 locations in the Netherlands. The OV-fietsen in The Hague are conveniently located at the four train stations: Centraal, Hollands Spoor, Laan van Nieuw Oost-Indie* and Mariahoeve*. (* The train stations with an asterisk have automatic lock-ups for which you will need a pin code.)
