Aircraft used for emergency medical assistance will be allowed to land on the roof of The Hague’s HagaZiekenhuis on the Leyweg. This was decided by the Executive Board of the Province of Zuid-Holland.
The hospital’s helicopter landing pad was located on the Sportlaan in The Hague until 2008. Over the last several years helicopters have been landing on a lawn next to the hospital on the Leyweg.
The Haga Teaching Hospital is building a new accident and emergency department and want to make use of the platform on the roof. The provincial parliament still needs to approve the plan.
